What it does
The fuel pump delivers fuel from the tank to the engine at the pressure it needs. Air and fuel parts decide how well the engine breathes and how cleanly it runs, so the right part restores smooth running and can support more power on a modified engine.
Installation & tips
- Replace the fuel filter and inspect the strainer and wiring when you change the pump.
- Fuel filter: A clogged filter overworks a new pump.
- Tank seal: The tank seal is often single-use.
- Work on a cool engine with the vehicle secured, and use a service manual for your vehicle for torque specs and procedures.
