GR86 & BRZ Side Skirts

Two generations

The first generation (2013 to 2020 Scion FR-S, Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ) and the second generation (2022 on Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ) have different body shapes, so side skirts are made for one or the other. Within a generation, the GR86 and BRZ share the same side sills.

What side skirts do

Side skirts, or side extensions, add a lip along the rocker panel below the doors. They make the car look lower and tie a front lip and rear diffuser together.

Materials and fitting

  • ABS plastic skirts are durable and come in gloss black or ready to paint.
  • Most attach with a mix of screws and automotive tape along the factory rocker panel.
  • Lowered cars should check ground clearance, because skirts sit close to the road.

Within the same generation, yes. The GR86 and second-generation BRZ share the same side sills.
Do 2013 to 2020 BRZ side skirts fit the 2022 and later model?
No. The body changed between generations.
Do side skirts need painting?
Gloss black skirts can go on as they are. Unpainted skirts need painting to match the car.
