What brake calipers do
The caliper holds the brake pads and squeezes them against the rotor using hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder.
Signs you need new brake calipers
- The car pulls to one side when braking
- A stuck caliper: one wheel runs hot, smells, or the pad wears much faster on one side
- Brake fluid leaking around the wheel
- A soft or sinking brake pedal
How to choose
- Calipers are side specific. Check front or rear and left (driver) or right (passenger) in the title.
- Some listings include the bracket, some do not. Check the details before you order.
- Bleed the brakes after fitting a caliper.

Brake Calipers FAQ
Should calipers be replaced in pairs?
It is common to replace both calipers on an axle so braking stays even, though a single failed caliper can be replaced on its own.
What does a sticking caliper feel like?
The car may pull to one side, the wheel gets hot and you may smell burning brakes after a drive.
Do I need to bleed the brakes after replacing a caliper?
Yes. Opening the hydraulic system lets air in, so bleed the brakes before driving.
